Kathleen Asher possesses extensive experience in legal and labor relations, currently serving as Director of Legal and Labor Relations at the New Jersey School Boards Association since December 2017. Previous roles include Senior Manager Legal and Labor Relations and Counsel at the same organization, as well as Government Representative 2 at the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. Kathleen has also practiced as an Attorney at Armando V. Riccio LLC and Counsel at Schwartz Simon Edelstein & Celso LLC. Prior experience includes serving as Managing Attorney at the New Jersey Department of Corrections and Deputy Attorney General at the New Jersey Division of Law. Kathleen holds a Juris Doctor degree from Widener University-Delaware Campus and a Bachelor of Science in Law and Justice from The College of New Jersey.

New Jersey School Boards Association
Established in 1914, the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) is a federation of all of the state's local boards of education. The 4,800 local board members who comprise our membership are the largest group of elected and appointed public officials in New Jersey. The Association provides training and technical assistance to these members, all of whom serve without compensation. In addition, the Association advocates the education, health, and safety interests of New Jersey's public school students and school districts. Local board of education members are the Association's core member group. However, NJSBA extends the privilege of associate membership to individuals and organizations whose work or interests address the concerns and mission of the Association.
