Anupama Madaram has extensive work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Anupama is currently working as a PD Engineer II at Nkarta, Inc. In their previous role as a Senior Manufacturing Associate at Sangamo Therapeutics, Inc., they led the tech transfer of processes from external CMO to internal manufacturing and determined process parameters for scaling up of upstream and downstream equipment. Anupama also scheduled and organized various equipment runs and GMP runs to determine process flow and details.
Prior to that, Anupama worked as a Graduate Research Associate at Jefferson Institute for Bioprocessing, where they implemented single-use technologies and developed a novel manufacturing process for a Hepatitis B recombinant vaccine. Anupama also collaborated on method development for various analytical technologies in the QC Microbiology lab.
During their time as a Bioprocess Engineer Intern at Keck Graduate Institute, Anupama utilized bioreactors and shake flasks to optimize mammalian cell growth and investigated scaling up in spinner flasks. Anupama also gained experience as a Pharmacy Technician at CVS Pharmacy.
Anupama has actively participated in professional organizations, serving as the Public Relations Co-Chair for the ISPE UCSD Student Chapter and the Co-Poster Competition Chair. Anupama also worked as a BSUITE Intern at Keck Graduate Institute.
Anupama Madaram completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacological Chemistry from UC San Diego in the time period of 2016 to 2018. Anupama then pursued a Master of Science - MS in Biopharmaceutical Process Engineering from Thomas Jefferson University from 2019 to 2020.
