Valerie Bloomfield has a comprehensive work experience in the field of mechanical engineering. Valerie started their career in 1984 at Analytic Power Corporation, where they worked as the Chief Engineer on various projects, including the design and delivery of a 5KW CHP residential power generator incorporating PEM fuel cells and an autothermal reformer.
In 2000, Valerie joined Analytic Energy Systems as the Chief Engineer, leading technology development programs and overseeing patentable technology improvements. Valerie also managed the development of a commercial 2 kW liquid-cooled PEM for a residential power system.
Valerie then joined Parker Hannifin in 2005 as a Sr. Project Engineer, where they developed passive membrane humidity exchangers and passive humidifiers for medical oxygen breathing systems.
In 2008, Valerie moved to Textron Defense Systems as the Manager of the Mechanical Engineering Design Lab. Valerie was responsible for managing a diverse group of 10 mechanical engineers and scientists, overseeing schedules, budgets, and analytical services for various projects.
Valerie continued their career at Draper in 2010, initially as the Group Leader for Mechanical Systems & Analysis and later as the Principal Mechanical Engineer. In these roles, Valerie managed a team of 11 mechanical engineers, contributed to technical projects, and led the development of novel interconnects for holographic devices.
Valerie's most recent work experience is at NKT Photonics, where they hold the position of Principal Mechanical Engineer, starting in 2023.
Throughout their career, Valerie has demonstrated strong leadership, technical expertise, and a track record of successful project delivery in the field of mechanical engineering.
Valerie Bloomfield earned a B.S.M.E degree in Engineering from Tufts University from 1980 to 1984. Prior to that, they completed their High School education at Beaver Country Day School from 1977 to 1980. Valerie has also obtained a certification in Six Sigma Green Belt - DFSS from Textron Systems.
