Thies Helbig

Thies Helbig has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Thies started their career as a Project Manager at Soletanche Bachy in 1998 and worked there until 2004. In 2004, they became the Unternehmensinhaber / Managing Partner at PHI Preusser Helbig Ingenieure GmbH, where they stayed until 2016. During their time at PHI Preusser Helbig Ingenieure GmbH, Thies was responsible for managing the company.

In 2005, Thies worked as a Design Coordinator for the MEGA Kazan Project at IKEA Russia as a consultant. Thies then joined ABB in 2006, initially as a Civil Works Coordinator. Thies later moved up to the role of Senior Project Manager and eventually became a Project Director, working there until 2020.

In 2020, Thies joined Hitachi ABB Power Grids as a Project Director and also started working at NKT as the Head of Berlin Project Office. At NKT, they progressed to become the Vice President, Head of HVDC Corridor Projects, where they were responsible for the portfolio of HVDC Corridor Projects. Thies is currently the Vice President, Head of Large Project Execution at NKT. Providing strong leadership and expertise in project and contract management, Thies has continuously excelled in their roles throughout their career.

Thies Helbig attended Technische Universität Berlin from 1990 to 1998, where they obtained a degree in Bauingenieurwesen (Civil Engineering) with the title "Dipl.-Ing". Thies also holds a certification as an IPMA Project Director (Level A) from the International Project Management Association, which was obtained in 2022.
