Tom Baertlein

Tom Baertlein has held various finance and sales leadership roles throughout their career. Tom started as a Finance Manager at Tektronix in 1985 and then moved to Sequent Computer as a WW Sales and Service Controller in 1990. Tom continued with Sequent and Sequent Computer Systems, Inc. in similar roles until 1999. From 1999 to 2000, they served as the WW Sales and Service Controller at Sequent. In 2002, Baertlein joined FEI Company, where they held several positions, including VP of Finance, Vice President Worldwide Sales & Service, VP New Businesses and Field Operations, and Vice President Sales & Service Operations until 2016. Tom briefly served as the VP of Finance at Thermo Fisher Scientific before joining nLIGHT in 2016. At nLIGHT, Baertlein first served as the Director of Sales Operations from 2016 to 2020 and was then promoted to VP of Finance and Sales Operations in June 2020, where they currently hold the role.

Tom Baertlein attended Tillamook High School from 1974 to 1978, but did not obtain a degree or pursue a specific field of study during this time. Tom then went on to study at Oregon State University from 1978 to 1982, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting.
