Patrick O'Brien has a diverse work experience in the healthcare sector. Patrick started their career as a Medical Assistant at Memorial Urgent Care Clinic in 2009. Later, they worked as a Certified Medical Assistant at the University of Washington Medical Center from 2009 to 2012. In 2013, they joined Bellevue College as a Neurodiagnostic Technologist. In 2016, they became a Surgical Neurophysiologist, CNIM, Training & Development at NMA (Neuromonitoring Associates). Patrick then served as the Regional Operations Manager from May 2017 to December 2017. Patrick also held the position of Clinical Team Manager from December 2017 to February 2019. Currently, they are serving as the Director Of Field Operations at NMA.

Patrick O'Brien R EEG T CNIM possesses a diverse education history. From 2013 to 2015, they attended Bellevue College, where they obtained an Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) degree in Neurodiagnostic Technology. Prior to that, from 2007 to 2009, they pursued a Medical Assistant and Limited X-Ray Certificate at Apollo College, specializing in the field of Medical/Clinical Assistance. Patrick furthered their education at the University of Oregon from 1999 to 2001, earning a Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs. Before attending the University of Oregon, they attended Oregon State University from 1996 to 1999, focusing on Communications, specifically Communication and Media Studies.

In addition to their formal education, Patrick O'Brien has pursued additional certifications. Patrick obtained the Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (REEGT) certification from ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation in June 2015. Furthermore, in June 2018, they acquired the Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM), also from ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation.
