Kwame Makundi

Kwame Makundi has extensive work experience in the technology and digital transformation field. Kwame is currently serving as the Chief Technology and Digital Transformation at NMB Bank Plc since November 2021. Before that, they held the position of Ag. Chief Technology and Digital Transformation from January 2021 to November 2021. Kwame also served as the Head of Technology Services Management at NMB Bank Plc from January 2017 to November 2021. Prior to joining NMB Bank, they worked as the Senior Manager - Services Management at the same organization from May 2014 to December 2016.

Before their tenure at NMB Bank, Kwame Makundi worked as the Project & Operations Manager - Internet Services at Millicom International Cellular (Tigo) Tanzania from June 2011 to April 2014. Kwame also gained experience as the Operations Manager: Billing, VAS, and IP/MPLS at Dovetel LTD Trading as Sasatel from October 2008 to May 2011. In their early career, they worked as a Senior Engineer, Intelligent Networks (IN) at Vodacom Tanzania from September 2006 to October 2008.

Kwame Makundi has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Leadership Development from Stellenbosch University, which they obtained from 2019 to 2021. Kwame also holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Engineering and Information Technology from the University of Dar es Salaam, obtained from 2002 to 2006. In addition, they have several certifications in areas such as Ethical Hacking, ITIL, and Business Development.
