Bayo Sofidiya has extensive work experience in the field of contracts, legal, and procurement. Bayo started their career in 1988 as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor at Boyden & Company. Bayo then worked as a Site Quantity Surveyor at Alfred McAlpine, a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator at London Borough of Newham, and a Project Quantity Surveyor at Raymond Brown Construction.
In 2003, Bayo joined BAM Nuttall Ltd as a Managing Quantity Surveyor and stayed with the company until 2007. Bayo then worked as a Senior Project Quantity Surveyor at Crown House Technologies before becoming a Commercial Manager at ALDAR Laing O'Rourke - Abu Dhabi UAE in 2008.
From 2009 to 2012, Bayo worked as a Project Controls/Contracts Manager at Archirodon Construction. Following that, they joined National Marine Dredging Company in 2012 and held various roles including Contracts Manager, Head of Contracts & Legal Department, and currently serves as the Contracts Legal & Procurement Director.
Throughout their career, Bayo has been responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, identifying and managing risks, negotiating with stakeholders, and maintaining accurate documentation. Bayo has managed several high-value projects, including the Upper Zakum artificial islands project and the Brakah Nuclear Power Plant project.
Bayo's work experience reflects a strong background in contracts, legal, and procurement management, with a focus on risk mitigation and project execution.
Bayo Sofidiya completed a Bsc in Quantity Surveying from Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford, Essex, UK, between 1990 and 1995. Additionally, they obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Arbitration from the College of Estate Management in Reading, UK, from 2009 to 2011.
