Mark McGinnigle

Mark McGinnigle's work experience begins in 2014 as an IT Intern at The Miller Group Ltd. Mark gained experience with SUSE Linux administration and Novell products during this time. In 2015, Mark joined Secureworks as a Senior Network Security Analyst, where they performed log analysis, data correlation, and incident creation decisions related to various security threats. Mark also assisted clients with network troubleshooting and security incident inquiries. In 2017, Mark transitioned to the role of Splunk Security Analytics Development Lead, playing an integral role in developing an MSSP-managed SIEM capability targeted at enterprise-level organizations. Their responsibilities included strategy development, project management, security analytics development, and overseeing client engagements. Mark continued their journey in Secureworks until 2023, when they joined Noetic Cyber as a Solutions Architect.

Mark McGinnigle attended West Lothian College from 2009 to 2011, where they obtained a HNC and HND in Computer Science/Technical Support. Following that, they went on to study at Abertay University from 2011 to 2015 and earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Hons) degree in Ethical Hacking & Countermeasures.

In terms of additional certifications, Mark obtained the Splunk Certified Administrator certification from Splunk in May 2018, and the Splunk Certified Power User 6.x certification in July 2017. Mark also achieved the GIAC Advisory Board certification from GIAC in August 2016, along with the GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA) certification in the same month and year.
