Jim O'Connor is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in sales engineering and systems engineering within the telecommunications and internet sectors. Currently serving as Vice President of Sales Engineering at Nokia since March 2025, Jim previously held multiple leadership roles at Infinera from September 2017 to March 2025, including Vice President and Head of Global Systems Engineering for Internet Content Providers. Prior to Infinera, Jim worked at Ciena from February 2011 to September 2017, where significant contributions included directing sales engineering teams that generated over $1 billion in revenue. Jim also co-founded and owned James Christopher, LLC, and played key roles in product management and systems engineering at Amedia Networks. Jim holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from North Carolina State University.
