Rod Alferness is currently the Chief Scientist at Bell Labs, Alcatel-Lucent, a position they have held since 2007. They earned a B.S. in Physics and Math from Hamline University and went on to obtain a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Michigan between 1972 and 1976.
