Umesh Kathad

Umesh Kathad is an experienced Senior Data Science Engineer at Nokia since July 2025, with a prior role as Senior Data Scientist at Lantern Pharma, Inc. from September 2016 to July 2025. Umesh has developed machine learning modules using Python and R, performed advanced statistical analysis, and optimized data operations to enhance drug discovery processes. Umesh has also implemented containerized workflows to automate model building and ensured data quality and accessibility through effective structuring of SQL and NoSQL databases. Earlier experience includes a Co-op Research Internship at Northeastern University, focusing on metagenomics, and a Laboratory Assistant position in India, where Umesh operated various scientific instruments. Umesh holds a Master of Science in Bioinformatics with a focus on Data Science from Northeastern University, along with a Master of Science in Medical Biotechnology and a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology from Sardar Patel University.
