Dale Sophiea has an extensive career in the film and media industry, serving as a director, filmmaker, composer, and producer at Quadruped Media since 1974, which includes collaborations with various musicians. Additionally, Dale has been a juror and screener for film festivals such as the SF International Film Fest and Mill Valley Film Fest since 1990. Voice talent work began in 2007 for Nolo, contributing to ads, audiobooks, and instructional videos for the Center for Independent Living and Uncle John's Readers. Since 2011, Dale has also taken on key roles as show runner and house manager for the San Francisco Silent Film Festival, ensuring the smooth operation of events, as well as serving as theatre manager at Landmark Theatres until 2016. Dale holds a background in education from Indiana University Bloomington, where studies were completed between 1966 and 1969.
