Richard Weston has experience working in various fields, starting in 2012 as a Construction Worker at KT Younger Construction. Richard then joined the United States Marine Corps in 2017, where they served as a Platoon Commander, leading a team of 27 Marines and 1 Sailor. Richard was also a Marine Officer Instructor at Purdue University, teaching college courses and serving as the unit's Anti-terrorism Force Protection Officer. In 2023, they will be joining Nomad Global Communication Solutions as a Project Manager. Overall, Weston has extensive leadership experience and skills in construction, military tactics, and education.

Richard Weston earned their Bachelor's degree in History from California State University, Fullerton in 2017, after completing their transfer program with Cypress College from 2013 to 2015. Richard then pursued a Master of Science in Computer/Information Technology Risk Management at Purdue University from 2021 to 2023. Alongside their academic pursuits, Weston also obtained several certifications from the United States Marine Corps, including the Basic Officer Course in 2018, Infantry Officer Course in 2018, Light Armored Reconnaissance Leaders Course in 2019, Scout Sniper Unit Leaders Course in 2019, and Raid Leaders Course in 2020.
