Andrea Palazzi

Andrea Palazzi has been working in the tech industry since 2015. In that year, they were a Research and Development Intern at Expert System and a Research Fellow at Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia. In 2018, they worked as an Applied Scientist Intern at Amazon. Since 2020, they have been a Senior Deep Learning Engineer at Nomitri GmbH, where they are responsible for all phases of model life cycle, as well as the design, development and maintenance of the internal deep learning software infrastructure and its continuous integration (CI) pipelines. During their PhD studies, their main research topics included driver's gaze prediction, image and video saliency, synthetic data, differentiable rendering, object pose estimation, and image generation.

Andrea Palazzi obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia in 2012. Andrea then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from the same institution, which they completed in 2015. In 2016, they obtained a certificate in Regularization Methods for Machine Learning from Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. That same year, they began their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Computer Vision at Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia, which they completed in 2020. In 2015, they obtained a certificate in Machine Learning from Coursera. In 2017, they obtained a Self-Driving Car Engineer Nanodegree Program certificate from Udacity.
