Inderjit's rich career has encompassed senior roles in local and central government, the third sector and the UK’s Academies programme. Inderjit spent 12 years at the Department for Education, the majority as a Senior Civil Servant, where he occupied a number of high profiles roles. These included leading the London Challenge, which has been widely regarded as one of the most effective Education Development programmes delivered in the UK. He led the expansion of the London Challenge, through the City Challenge, to over one-third of English schools with a similar positive impact.
He also led the development and delivery of the first national strategy to target the raising of attainment of Black and minority ethnic students in English state schools.
