Sean Gilligan

Sean Gilligan has a diverse work experience spanning across different companies and roles. Sean worked as a Software Testing Engineer during their summer internship at CST - Computer Simulation Technology in 2010. In 2011, they worked as a Test Development Engineer at SMS Electronics. Following that, they joined Rolls-Royce as a Control Systems Engineer in 2012 and later transitioned to the role of Software Specialist in 2017. At Rolls-Royce, they gained experience in safety-critical software development and modernizing software organizations. In 2021, Sean became the Director of Evaluated Pricing Development at LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group), leading a large team in delivering software for big data analytics in financial markets. Sean provided leadership and coaching to improve team performance and implemented DevOps and Agile Working practices. Currently, Sean is working at Nordcloud, an IBM Company, as a Lead Azure Cloud Architect, leveraging their expertise in building cloud-native solutions on AWS.

Sean Gilligan earned a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Nottingham, where they attended from 2008 to 2012. Sean also holds certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS), including AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional and Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate. Additionally, Sean is a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), a Chartered Engineer from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), and has Microsoft certifications in Azure DevOps Engineer Expert and Azure Development Associate. Sean is also pursuing a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Association for Project Management.
