Anna Maria Eskelin is a seasoned compliance professional with extensive experience in the financial services sector. Currently serving as an Expert at the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) since October 2024, Anna Maria is also the Head of Conduct, Advisory and Product Compliance at Nordea, a role held since October 2021. Previously, Anna Maria held leadership positions at Danske Bank, including Head of Products, Solutions and Licensing Compliance, and Managed Compliance Officer roles focusing on Cross Border Licensing and Wealth Management Compliance. With a foundational career beginning at Nordea in various compliance and legal capacities, Anna Maria has developed a strong background in compliance risk management, investment advice, and product governance. Anna Maria holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Helsinki and has accumulated diverse legal experience through prior roles as a lawyer and legal counselor.
