Brent D. Matthies

Brent D. Matthies, PhD, currently serves as the Head of ESG Risk Framework & Control at Nordea, leading the unit responsible for the Group's ESG Risk Management Framework. This role involves cross-risk integration of ESG factors and oversight of policies related to environmental, social, and governance issues. Prior experience includes significant roles at Indufor Group as a Senior Advisor and at Dasos Capital as an Investment Manager, focusing on climate finance and responsible investment strategies. Brent has a strong academic background, holding a Doctor of Science in Forest Economics and Marketing from the University of Helsinki, alongside numerous research and teaching positions. Notably, Brent has contributed to over 20 reports on sustainable investment and led diverse projects in climate finance and natural capital accounting.
