Keenan Pinto has a diverse work experience. Starting in 2011, they were an Intern at TORM A/S, where they conducted a cost-benefit analysis of machinery utilized for oily-wastewater treatment and disposal on-board marine tanker vessels. In 2012, they were a Trainee at ITC Limited. In 2013, they worked at The University of Nottingham, NASC (Nottingham Arabidopsis stock centre) as a Glasshouse assistant and Laboratory Demonstrator. From 2014-2016, they were a Consultant (Genetics and Plant Breeding) at Bombay Hemp Company Pvt Ltd, Sales Manager at Syngene, and Prior Cofounder/ Technical Advisor at Liv. In 2016, they were a Research Associate at Sepcotech ApS. Since 2017, they have been the Founder and CEO of Nordetect, and Bioengineer in Residence at SPACE10.

Keenan Pinto completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Biotechnology from Manipal Institute of Technology from 2008 to 2012. Keenan then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Plant Genetic Manipulation from the University of Nottingham from 2012 to 2013. In 2015, they completed a PhD Summer Course in Synthetic Biology from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen.
