Dr. Christian Wessels

Dr. Christian Wessels serves as the Vice President of Global Electrical Engineering at Nordex Group since November 2011, managing a team of over 100 engineers across multiple countries and overseeing departments such as Electrical Drives, Grid Integration, and Power Distribution. Dr. Wessels has developed and implemented strategies for the Electrical Engineering area, ensuring compliance with global grid codes and maintaining high-quality standards for wind turbines. Previous roles at Nordex include Director of Global Electrical Engineering and Head of Electrical Drives and Design, contributing significantly to the development of the Delta4000 Wind Turbine. Dr. Wessels holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Kiel University, with a focus on wind turbine systems, and has participated in various interdisciplinary projects and working groups in the field of grid integration.
