Mette Gervin Damsgaard is a seasoned professional in sustainable transitions, biodiversity, and climate policy, currently serving as a Senior Adviser at Nordisk Råd og Nordisk Ministerråd since August 2018. Concurrently, Mette has been a Policy Adviser at the Nature Agency within the Ministry of Environment since October 2009, where responsibilities include chairing UN negotiations and representing the EU in the Bureau of the Convention on Biological Diversity. Prior roles include Head of Section at the Ministry of Environment, focusing on human resources policies and capacity building, as well as consulting on gender and socioeconomics at HAP Consultants. Mette holds a Master’s degree in Social Science International Development and Environmental Planning from Roskilde University, alongside additional qualifications in international negotiations and project management. Most recently, Mette completed a Professional Certificate in Finance for Nature from IUCN Academy in December 2023.
