Algirdas Šakys

Algirdas Šakys has had a diverse range of work experience in the IT and security field. Algirdas started their career as a Security Systems Manager at UAB "ASĮ" in 2011, where they were responsible for various tasks related to security system management. Algirdas then moved on to the National Audit Office of Lithuania in 2012, where they worked as a Senior IT Auditor. In 2014, they joined AB Lietuvos geležinkeliai as a Senior Internal IT Auditor, conducting audit engagements based on organization and Lithuanian legislation. Algirdas then joined Lietuvos Energija, UAB in 2015 as an IT Auditor, where they were responsible for ICT audit engagements and monitoring the implementation of management actions. Algirdas worked as an IT Auditor and Information Security Consultant at ATEA Lietuva in 2017, where they conducted external information security audits and compliance assessments. From 2018 to 2020, they served as a CIRT Team Lead at Ignitis Group. Most recently, Algirdas joined Nord Security in 2020 as an Information Security Manager and Team Lead, managing a SOC team and implementing an ISMS to meet ISO27001 and SOC 2 requirements.

Algirdas Šakys earned a Bachelor of Physics degree in Modern Technologies Physics and Management from Vilniaus universitetas / Vilnius University, where they attended from 2007 to 2011. In addition, they obtained certifications such as Certified Information Systems Auditor® (CISA) from ISACA in 2016 and Qualified Internal Auditor from the Lithuanian Association of Internal Auditors in 2014.
