Rafael Enrique Banchs Jr

Rafael Enrique Banchs Jr is an experienced software engineer currently working at Nordstrom since January 2021, holding the position of Software Engineer 2 in the Product Ingestion Engine Team, after serving as a Software Engineer in the same team. Prior to Nordstrom, Rafael worked as an R&D Software Engineer in the Data Science Team at Aquatic Informatics, where the focus was on developing LSTM models for time-series predictions and outlier detection in environmental data using R. Earlier experience includes a role as a Software Engineer in the Computer Vision Team at Aupera Technologies Inc., where Rafael contributed to object recognition software development, implementing builds in C++ and Python. Rafael earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a minor in Commerce from The University of British Columbia between 2014 and 2020.
