'Tola Onayemi

Tola Onayemi has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and industries. Starting in 2015, Tola worked as a Visiting Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Uyo. In 2016, they became a Reform Leader at the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) and a Curator for the Abuja Global Shapers Community. Tola also served as a Technical Adviser in the Economic team of the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from 2015 to 2017, providing policy advisory assistance on Industry, Trade, and Investment.

In 2017, Tola took on the role of Partnership & Legal Adviser at the Civic Innovation Lab in Abuja and later became the Assistant Chief Negotiator for Nigeria & Head of Trade Remedies at the Nigerian Office for Trade Negotiations (NOTN). In these positions, Tola led technical negotiations for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AFCFTA) Agreement and provided economic policy advice to the Nigerian government.

From 2018 to 2019, Tola worked as a Visiting Attorney at King & Spalding under a memorandum of understanding with the Nigerian government. They then became a Partner (Legal) and Co-founder of Future Africa in 2019. In the same year, Tola also became a Partner at CIRCLE LLP.

Most recently, Tola has taken on the role of Chief Executive Officer at Norebase, starting in 2021. Overall, Tola's work experience showcases their expertise in trade negotiations, economic policy advice, partnership development, and leadership roles.

Tola Onayemi obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree with First Class Honours from the University of Lagos in 2012. In 2013, they pursued a Master of Laws (LLM) degree at the University of Cambridge.
