Jan Mendling has an extensive work experience. Jan began their career in 2003 as a Research Assistent at WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business). In 2006, they became a Visiting Researcher at Technische Universiteit Eindhoven. In 2007, they took on the role of Research Fellow at Queensland University of Technology. In 2008, they became a Junior Professor at Humboldt University Berlin. In 2011, they were promoted to Full Professor at WU Wien. In 2012, they became a Visiting Professor at Universität Liechtenstein and University of Ljubljana. In 2013, they took on the role of Vorstand at Gesellschaft für Prozessmanagement. In 2021, they became a Co-Founder & Head of Partnerships & Knowledge at Noreja, and also an Einstein Professor at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
Jan Mendling received their Ph.D. in Wirtschaftsinformatik from WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) between 2003 and 2007. Jan attended Universität Trier between 1997 and 2003, and University of Antwerp between 1999 and 2000. Jan also attended Kurfürst-Salentin-Gymnasium Andernach between 1988 and 1995.
