Esther Diskin

Director Of Communications; English, Upper School at Norfolk Academy

Esther Diskin has extensive experience in education and communications, currently serving as the Director of Communications and Upper School English Teacher at Norfolk Academy since August 2014, after previously working as a 6th Grade Teacher in English and Social Studies from August 2003 to June 2014. Prior to Norfolk Academy, Esther Diskin lectured in English at Old Dominion University, developing curriculum for journalism and literature courses. Experience in journalism includes roles as a Senior Development Associate at Eastern Virginia Medical School and as an Editor and Reporter at Pilot Media from 1992 to 1998, where focus areas included religion, values, ethics, and local government. Esther Diskin began their career as a reporter at The Daily Press from February 1990 to July 1992. Academic qualifications include an A.B. in English and American Studies, magna cum laude from Harvard University, and a Master of Philosophy in Anglo-Irish Literature from Trinity College Dublin.
