Benny Meekins

Benny Meekins is a seasoned law enforcement professional currently serving as a Deputy Sheriff at the Norfolk Sheriff's Office since June 2021. With prior experience as a Deputy Sheriff at the Newport News Sheriff's Office, Benny has a robust background in security, having worked as a Security Supervisor at Horseshoe Casino and as a Police Officer at Benton Harbor Police Department. Earlier career roles include serving as a Correctional Officer with the Indiana Department of Correction and as an Infantry member in the United States Marine Corps, where responsibilities included Infantry Mortarman and Section Leader. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Corrections from Capella University and training at the Hampton Roads Criminal Justice Training Academy.
