Duane Foster

Duane Foster has a diverse work experience in the field of education and music. Duane began their career in 1993 as a performer on Broadway, appearing in the original production of Ragtime. In 2006, they transitioned to education and worked at Normandy Middle School as a Music/Theatre Teacher, receiving recognition as the Arts and Education Council Art Educator of the Year in 2013. Duane also held various roles at Normandy High School, including Assistant Principal, Fine Arts Department Chair, and Director of the Evening Learning Institute/Normandy Performing Arts Academy. Foster later joined Mason Elementary/St. Louis Public Schools as an Assistant Principal in 2023. In addition to their education career, they served as the Minister of Music at Washington Metropolitan AME Zion Church and directed various choirs.
