Catarina Allen

Catarina Allen is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in product design and event organization, currently serving as an Event Organizer for the OKO Ethnographic Film Festival since July 2025 and a Product Designer at Normative.io since October 2023. Prior roles include Senior Product & UX/UI Designer at Netlight and a freelance designer providing services in product, UX, UI, service design, user research, and accessibility audits for over 30 clients. Catarina has also contributed as a Submissions Reviewer for the ACM CHI Conference, Communications Designer for IxDA, and a speaker and author for the DIS 2022 Designing Interactive Systems Conference. With a background in HCI research at Inria focusing on soft robotics, design management for NGOs, and a strong educational foundation with multiple master's degrees in Human-Computer Interaction and related fields, Catarina combines a unique expertise in usability and design with a passion for social impact.
