Froukje Maria Platjouw is a Senior Researcher at NIVA - Norsk institutt for vannforskning, specializing in EU and international environmental law, ocean law, and ecosystem-based governance since September 2015. Currently serving as the Scientific Coordinator for the Horizon Europe-funded CrossGov project, Froukje is focused on enhancing coherence and compliance of marine-related policies to achieve the EU Green Deal's objectives. Previous roles include Postdoctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Law at the University of Oslo, Legal Expert for the European Commission, and Contributor to IDLO's program on biodiversity targets. Froukje holds a PhD in Public International/Environmental Law and multiple law degrees from the University of Oslo and the University of Groningen.
