Mari Solerød

Mari Solerød has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Mari currently holds the position of Head Of Communications at Norsk institutt for vannforskning (NIVA) since May 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Norges forskningsråd for a significant duration, serving as a Special Advisor. Mari'sresponsibilities included being a National Contact Point for European Partnerships, chairing the Governing Board of JPI Urban Europe, and leading a communication team. Before joining Norges forskningsråd, Mari was an Editor at Den norske jordmorforening from 2005 to 2008. Mari also worked as a Communication Advisor at Utdanningsdirektoratet from 2003 to 2005. Earlier in their career, they held roles as an Information Advisor at Datatilsynet, a Journalist and Information Advisor at NBBL, and a Journalist at Informasjonsbyrået. Mari's work experience includes teaching positions at Oslo Private Gymnasium OPG and Holtet videregående skole. Mari started their career as a Journalist and Editor at Tidsskriftet Ikkevold.

Mari Solerød has an extensive education history that spans several years and covers various fields of study. In 1977, they attended Ringshaug ungdomsskole for an unspecified period and did not receive a degree or pursue a specific field of study. From 1981 to 1984, they attended Tønsberg Gymnas and completed the Artium program with a focus on language. In 1981 to 1982, they also participated in an AFS student program at Lycée Polyvalent de Millau, although the field of study is not specified. Afterward, from 1984 to 1986, Solerød attended Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen, where they pursued a two-year Bifag degree in French. Following this, they returned to the University of Oslo (UiO) from 1988 to 1989 and completed a Grunnfag degree in Social anthropology. Finally, from 1990 to 1995, they continued their studies at the University of Oslo (UiO) and obtained a Master's degree in Nordic languages and literature.
