Chris Houlder

Chris Houlder has a diverse work experience spanning various companies and roles. Chris is currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer at Norstella since July 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an Advisor at Aleada Consulting from June 2021. Chris also served as a Venture Advisor at YL Ventures starting from November 2019.

Chris has significant experience in the field of cybersecurity, as evidenced by their role as the Global Head of Cybersecurity at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. from September 2020 to July 2022. Chris has also held leadership positions such as VP & Chief Information Security Officer at Clarivate Analytics from June 2017 to July 2019 and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Autodesk from April 2012 to May 2017.

Before their tenure at Autodesk, Chris worked at Genentech as Associate Director of Communications, Storage & Security Infrastructure from December 2006 to April 2012. Chris also had a previous stint at Autodesk as Director of Global IT Infrastructure, where they held multiple roles of increasing responsibility from August 2001 to December 2006.

Additionally, Chris has experience as a Board Member at Rapticore, Inc from April 2019 to August 2021 and as Manager & Architect of Network & Security at Buzzsaw.com from March 2000 to August 2001.

Chris Houlder holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from the University of San Francisco. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2002, they became a Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP) through (ISC)². In 2004, they obtained the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification from ISACA. In 2012, they obtained the Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) certification, also from ISACA. Most recently, in September 2021, they acquired the Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP) certification from GIAC Certifications.
