David Diaz Romo

Associate Director of Environmental Infrastructure Finance at NADBank

David Diaz Romo has extensive work experience in various roles related to finance, public debt policy, strategic planning advisory, and macroeconomics. David started their career at Banco de México as an International Macroeconomist in 1995. David then worked at UDE as a Senior Consultant, where they provided advisory services for public education state systems and was involved in strategic project design, evaluation, expense auditing, and information management. In 2000, David joined SHCP as an Advisor to the Chief Economist, focusing on macroeconomic modeling and forecasting for the Mexican economy and overseeing the planning, tracking, and evaluation of the Federal Government's public finances. David later became the Director of Public Debt Policy, responsible for public debt management, optimization of interest rate curves, and cost-at-risk estimation. Since 2004, David has been associated with the North American Development Bank, initially as a Project origination and development officer, and currently as the Associate Director of Environmental Infrastructure Finance. In their current role, they oversee project development, financing, and implementation of environmental infrastructure projects.

David Diaz Romo completed their education history in the following chronological order:

From 1987 to 1991, they attended the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics/Industrial Economics.

Between 1993 and 1995, David pursued a Master of Science degree at El Colegio de México, specializing in Economics.

Continuing their academic journey, they attended the University of Warwick from 1996 to 1998, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Quantitative Development Economics and in Finance.

Lastly, in 2001, they completed a Diploma in Credit Risk-Basle I at ITESM Ciudad de México, with a focus in Credit Risk.
