Torise Young is an accomplished communications manager and event planner with extensive experience in internal communications and event coordination. Currently serving as Communications Manager for the North American Electric Reliability Corporation since March 2022, Torise has a diverse background in volunteer event planning dating back to 2003, including significant roles at the Georgia Institute of Technology and Peach County Schools. Notable achievements include leading major events such as the Inaugural Student Engagement and Well-Being Job Fair and the Ronnie Battle Baseball Complex Fundraiser, successfully managing logistics, budgets, vendor contracts, and communications strategies. Torise holds a Certificate in Meeting and Event Planning from Emory University, as well as a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Georgia and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, respectively.
North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC)
The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) is a not-for-profit international regulatory authority whose mission is to assure the reliability and security of the bulk power system in North America. NERC develops and enforces Reliability Standards; annually assesses seasonal and long‐term reliability; monitors the bulk power system through system awareness; and educates, trains, and certifies industry personnel. NERC’s area of responsibility spans the continental United States, Canada, and the northern portion of Baja California, Mexico. NERC is the electric reliability organization for North America, subject to oversight by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and governmental authorities in Canada. NERC’s jurisdiction includes users, owners, and operators of the bulk power system, which serves more than 334 million people.
