Wei Qiu is an experienced engineer specializing in event analysis and power systems. Currently serving as Lead Engineer of Event Analysis at the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) since April 2017, Wei analyzes EMS events, identifies causes, and collaborates with industry stakeholders to develop remediation strategies. Prior experience includes roles as Software Leader at GE Grid Solutions and Team Lead and Principal Power Systems Engineer at Alstom Grid, where Wei managed cross-functional teams, delivered EMS customization projects, and contributed to significant improvements in system performance. Earlier roles included Operation Research Analyst at LCG Consulting and Research Assistant at the Illinois Institute of Technology, where Wei earned a Ph.D. in Power Systems.
