John Gaffney

Chief Technology Officer at North Atlantic Networks

John Gaffney has worked in the technology industry for over 15 years. John began their career in 2005 as a Junior Network Administrator at New Testament Christian School, providing basic helpdesk support. In 2008, they moved to North Atlantic Networks as a Technical Support Specialist Tier II, working in the NOC and leading development of a new CRM. In 2010, they became the Network Administrator/IT Manager at Semper Home Loans, where they stabilized the network, built an IT plan, and provided end user support. In 2011, they moved to CMIT Solutions - Boston as a Lead Network Engineer, developing several products and spending time on loan to the DoD. Finally, in 2012, they returned to North Atlantic Networks as the Chief Technology Officer, handling customer design & onboarding, product development, and NAN's internet backbone network design.

John Gaffney obtained their Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering from the New England Institute of Technology in 2010. John also holds certifications from VMware, North Atlantic Networks, Cisco, Microsoft, and Cisco. These certifications include VMware Certified Professional - Cloud (VCP-Cloud) obtained in 2015, North Atlantic Networks Certified Engineer III obtained in 2014, VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) obtained in 2012, Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) obtained in 2008, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP MCTS) obtained in 2007, and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) obtained in 2006.
