Bert Durand

Bert Durand has a diverse work experience, including roles as Communications Director at the North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters and New England Carpenters Labor Management Program. Bert is currently a Member of the Stoughton Historical Commission and has previously served as a Town Meeting Representative for Stoughton Town Meeting. Additionally, they have been involved with the Stoughton Youth Soccer League as a Board Member and Secretary.

Bert Durand completed their high school education at Apponequet Regional High School from 1985 to 1989, earning a high school diploma. Bert then pursued a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Political Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1989 to 1994. Following this, they attended Emerson College from 1994 to 1996 and obtained a master's degree in Political Communication.

The North Atlantic States Regional Council represents more than 28,000 men and women employed by the leading residential and commercial general contractors and carpentry subcontractors in the region. Work performed by carpenters includes: wood framing; concrete; interior metal framing and drywall; ceilings; window installation; flooring; doors and hardware; finish/trim; mill work and furniture installation; pile driving; marine construction and diving. The union prides itself on offering the most comprehensive apprenticeship and life-long skills upgrade training to members at 18 locations.
