David McCleary has extensive experience in the carpentry and construction industry, currently serving as an Instructor at the North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters since November 2018. Prior to this role, McCleary held the position of Carpenter Foreman with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America from August 2013 to November 2018. Additionally, McCleary was the Owner of Flawless Leaders, LLC from July 2005 to December 2014 and the Owner of Restoration Carpenters, LLC from December 2010 to August 2013. Earlier in McCleary's career, a significant role as Director at The Home Depot spanned from February 1992 to July 2005. Academic achievements include a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School, earned between 2003 and 2005.

The North Atlantic States Regional Council represents more than 28,000 men and women employed by the leading residential and commercial general contractors and carpentry subcontractors in the region. Work performed by carpenters includes: wood framing; concrete; interior metal framing and drywall; ceilings; window installation; flooring; doors and hardware; finish/trim; mill work and furniture installation; pile driving; marine construction and diving. The union prides itself on offering the most comprehensive apprenticeship and life-long skills upgrade training to members at 18 locations.
