Ed Hallyburton

Ed Hallyburton has extensive experience in education and community service, currently serving as the Region 1b Director for the North Carolina Association of Educators since October 2022. Hallyburton has been a teacher at Burke County Public Schools since 2014, specializing in CTE Business & Marketing and AP Computer Science. In addition, Hallyburton has held various roles including Senior Member of the Civil Air Patrol and a member of the Burke County Board of Adjustment. Previous involvement includes participation in the Teacher Collaborative Committee at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and contribution to the U.S. Cyberspace Solarium Commission. Hallyburton's community engagement is further exemplified through leadership positions such as Chairman of the Burke County Planning Board and Board Member of the Valdese Economic Development and Incentive Corporation. Educational qualifications include studies at Gardner-Webb University, Western Piedmont Community College, and Appalachian State University, with a focus on law enforcement training and economic development.
