Nakeshia Williams

Nakeshia Williams, Ph.D., serves as the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, a position held since August 2023, after previously being the Interim Vice Provost. With extensive clinical experience as an Outpatient Mental Health Therapist at a Mental Health Outpatient Agency since June 2006, Nakeshia has provided therapy and developed treatment plans for diverse populations. Previous roles include Vice President of Student Success, Well-Being, and Belonging at Hollins University, and significant academic positions at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where Nakeshia taught courses in culturally responsive pedagogy and education. Nakeshia's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Urban Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from South Carolina State University, and a Bachelor of Education in English/Language Arts Teacher Education from the same institution.
