Jessica Uhrick-Rieger has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Jessica began their career in 2003 as the owner of Restaurant El Pariente, a full-service Mexican restaurant and bar in Florence, SC. From 2006 to 2019, they served as the Department Chair of Academic and Career Readiness at Johnston Community College, where they successfully obtained federal grant funding for basic skills programs. In 2016, they founded Fat Kitten Bath Bombs, a business focused on creating all-natural bath products. Jessica joined Wake Technical Community College in 2020 as the Director of Program Performance and Accountability. Most recently, in 2022, they became the Director of Program Operations at the North Carolina Community College System. Jessica's experience demonstrates their leadership skills and ability to collaborate with individuals at various levels.

Jessica Uhrick-Rieger completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Spanish Language and Literature from Appalachian State University between 1997 and 2001. In the same period, they also earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in International Business from the same university.

After a gap, they pursued a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Community College Education from the University of Phoenix from 2008 to 2010.

Recently, in 2018, Jessica enrolled in Liberty University to pursue a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Adult and Continuing Education Administration, and they are currently still in the process of completing their doctoral studies.

Jessica Uhrick-Rieger has obtained several additional certifications. In 2020, they received the Microsoft Office Specialist Master Certification (MOS) from Microsoft. In 2022, they earned the Career Pathways Leadership Certification from the National Career Pathways Network and the Scrum Developer Certificate of Proficiency from Agile Analytics.
