Allyson Wainright

Allyson Wainright is an accomplished content producer currently employed at the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources since September 2022. Previously, Allyson served as News Editor for The Western Carolina Journalist, overseeing article quality and adherence to AP style while covering diverse campus topics. Experience also includes an internship at The Mountaineer, where writing and editing skills were further developed through various feature stories and breaking news articles. As a writer for the AT&T NC Heritage Calendar, Allyson authored biographies that highlighted influential African Americans, published in the Raleigh News & Observer. Early roles at Target, Zax LLC, and Dunkin Donuts focused on customer service and teamwork, contributing to a well-rounded professional background. Allyson holds a degree in Communications with a concentration in Journalism from Western Carolina University.
