Chad Thompson

Chad Thompson is an accomplished firearms instructor with extensive experience in firearms training and law enforcement. As the Owner and Senior Instructor at CMT Consulting, LLC since October 2022, Chad focuses on teaching firearms skills to both shooters and instructors, emphasizing the importance of training for saving lives. With a tenure at the NC Department of Justice since March 2008, Chad serves as a Senior Firearms Instructor and School Director for the Specialized Firearms Instructor Training Program, responsible for training all NC Private Protective Services Firearms Trainers and NC Concealed Carry Handgun Instructors. Involvement with the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI) further showcases Chad's commitment to supporting fellow law enforcement officers. Prior experience includes serving as a Training Lieutenant/Sheriffs Deputy at the Johnston County Sheriffs Office and as a Tactical Team Member on an International Anti-Terrorist Team with the US State Department in Kosovo. Chad holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Trinity University.
