Doug Thoren

Special Deputy Attorney General - Criminal Chief at NC Department of Justice

Doug Thoren has a strong background in the legal field, beginning in 1996 as an Assistant District Attorney in the Office of the District Attorney - 15 B and 14th Judicial Districts. Doug then moved on to the NC Department of Justice in 2001, starting as an Assistant Attorney General and later becoming the Special Deputy Attorney General - Criminal Chief. In 2018, they joined the 9th Judicial District North Carolina as an Assistant District Attorney.

Doug Thoren attended Seton Hall University from 1984 to 1988, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued higher education at Temple University - James E. Beasley School of Law and obtained a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from 1990 to 1993.
