Sterl Carpenter

Sterl Carpenter currently serves as the Deputy Executive Director of Gaming Compliance and Sports Betting at the North Carolina Education Lottery since August 2023. Prior experience includes various roles at the Massachusetts Gaming Commission from May 2015 to August 2023, where responsibilities spanned Sports Wagering Operations Manager, Regulatory Compliance Manager, and Gaming Agents-Supervisor. Additionally, Sterl worked at Foxwoods Resort Casino for over two decades, holding positions such as Assistant Shift Manager, Assistant Pit Manager, Floor Supervisor, Dual-Rate Dealer, and Table Game Dealer. Early career experience includes serving as a PariMutuel Clerk at Newport Jai-Alai from 1988 to 1992. Sterl holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Rhode Island, earned between 1987 and 1992.
