Francie Gottsegen

Francie Gottsegen is an accomplished sports executive with extensive experience in leadership roles within professional sports organizations. Currently serving as President of North Carolina Football Club since January 2022, Francie has previously held positions such as CEO of Sports Systems, where significant advancements in software efficiencies for sponsorship and event operations were achieved. Prior experience includes serving as President of FG Consulting LLC, managing corporate hospitality sales for the 2017 PGA Championship, and various senior leadership roles at Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, Major League Soccer, and the NBA. Francie's educational background includes a degree from Duke University and education at Hathaway Brown School, demonstrating a strong foundation for a successful career in sports marketing and business development.

North Carolina Football Club is comprised of two professional soccer teams: North Carolina FC and North Carolina Courage. Our star symbolizes the unity between both teams and the long-term vision for soccer in North Carolina. On December 6, 2016, team owner Steve Malik ushered in The New State of Soccer by announcing North Carolina Football Club and rebanding our men's team (formerly Carolina RailHawks) to North Carolina FC. History was made yet again on January 9, 2017 when North Carolina Football Club announced it had acquired the rights to National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) 2016 Champion Western New York Flash and renamed the team North Carolina Courage. WHO WE ARE: North Carolina FC, our men's professional team, plays in the United Soccer League (USL). North Carolina Courage, our women's professional team, plays in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). All home games are held at WakeMed Soccer Park. The team is owned by local entrepreneur Steve Malik.
