John Thompson

John Thompson currently serves as Vice President of Advocacy at the North Carolina Medical Society since November 2023. As the Managing Partner at The Paratum Group, LLC since July 2015, John leads a public policy consulting firm that caters to clients in both the government and private sectors. Previously, John held notable roles including Vice President of Government Relations at the North Carolina Healthcare Association and Chief of Staff at Community Care of North Carolina. John has extensive experience in lobbying and legislative strategy, demonstrated during time with the North Carolina General Assembly and the American Cancer Society. John began military service as an Airborne Infantryman in the US Army from 1991 to 1995 and holds a degree from North Carolina State University.
