Margaret Nelson

Margaret Nelson is a seasoned fundraising professional with extensive experience in political campaigns and nonprofit organizations. Currently serving as a Major Gift Officer at the North Carolina Museum of Art since April 2022, Margaret has previously held roles such as Interim Director of Development at the Durham Public Schools Foundation and Senior Advisor for a U.S. Congressional Campaign. Notable achievements include serving as Finance Director for two U.S. Senate campaigns, where Margaret managed teams and raised significant funds, including $53.5 million during one campaign. Margaret's background also includes leadership in student engagement and admissions at Queens University of Charlotte, complemented by a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government with a minor in Pre-Law from the same institution.
