Alisa Atkinson McDonald is a Trustee at the North Carolina School of Science & Mathematics. Alisa has also served as an Adjunct Professor in the MBA Program at Winthrop University, and as a Vice President, Senior Director, and Program & Operational Executive at Duke Energy Corporation.

At Duke Energy Corporation, they were responsible for heading the Duke Energy line of business and for all operations, including programs, systems, and financials. Alisa collaborated with the C-suite to make $30M strategic investments annually in community organizations and company programs across 6 states.

Alisa has a track record of creating strategies, directing cross functional teams, communicating vision, and motivating teams to achieve high performance. Alisa has also excelled in improving operations, IT systems, and creating comprehensive financial reporting and metrics tracking.

Under their leadership, financial governance was strengthened, controls were improved, and $4M was cleared from the balance sheet.

Alisa Atkinson McDonald has a B.S in Mathematical Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a Master's degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
